Measuring your dog
1. Back length = while standing, measure from where your dog's neck meets his shoulders (oftentimes where the collar rests) to the base of the tail. Back length is often times the measurement referred to as the dog's "size".
2. Chest girth = measure around the largest part of your dog's chest. This is usually located just behind the front legs.
3. Neck girth = measure around where your dog's collar sits. As with collars, use the 'two finger' rule: you should be able to easily fit two fingers under the tape measure.
4. Waist girth = measure around the narrowest part of your dog's body. This is usually located just behind the rib cage.
